About
The Community Access Program aims to provide local citizens with free access to wireless Internet and the technical skills required to use it effectively. The Community Access Program helps Canadians take advantage of emerging opportunities in the expanding global knowledge-based economy by offering services like program tutorials and technical support. The Program helps diminish the digital divide many residents face as new technologies continue to emerge, while also encouraging online learning and literacy.
In addition to technical training, The Community Access Program also grants small communities with an opportunity to participate in physical activity and health promotion. Each local C@P Site offers a wide variety of activities for seniors and youth that are technology based. Such activities include Wii Bowling Tournaments, Clay Sculpting and Walkathons, all of which are enhanced by a free healthy snack.
