Hacksaw Gaming’s Le Slot Series: Smokey’s Slot Games Overview
Hacksaw Gaming introduced the Le series in 2023 with Le Bandit, starring a crowbar-carrying raccoon on a cluster-pays grid. Later releases kept Smokey at the centre while giving him new roles and outfits, including a pharaoh’s crown and an archaeologist’s helmet. This guide looks at six games in the collection, including the newest release, Le Digger. Each entry outlines its distinctive mechanics and the kind of player it may suit.
Le Bandit (2023)
- RTP: 96.34% | Volatility: Medium | Max win: 10,000x | Bet range: €0.10-€100.00
A good starting point for newcomers to the Le series, or for players seeking its most straightforward take on the Golden Squares formula.
Le Bandit launched the series and set out its core approach. On a 6×5 cluster grid, wins can lead to Super Cascades and light up Golden Squares. When a Rainbow symbol lands, those marked spaces reveal Coins, Clovers, and Pots of Gold.
The mechanics offered something new without making the game difficult to follow. Its 10,000x top win is the smallest in the collection, while the base game is described as more rewarding than most later Le releases.
Standout quality: Clarity.
Le Pharaoh (2024)
- RTP: 96.18%-96.21% | Volatility: Medium | Max win: 15,000x | Bet range: €0.10-€50.00
May appeal to players who like choosing a bonus format and enjoy a choice between FS and Hold & Win.
Le Pharaoh changes the series format by replacing cluster pays with 19 fixed paylines. Cascades also give way to Sticky Re-Drops: winning symbols remain in place as respins continue until no further combinations form. A Rainbow then activates the Golden Squares.
Landing three or four scatter icons lets players choose free spins-based play (Luck of the Pharaoh) or a Hold & Win-style round (Lost Treasures); four scatters also unlock Super versions of both. Five scatters trigger the Rainbow Over the Pyramids Epic Bonus, where every spin guarantees a Rainbow. The RTP depends on the selected bonus round.
Standout quality: A choice of bonus rounds.
Le Zeus (2025)
- RTP: 96.26% | Volatility: Medium | Max win: 20,000x | Bet range: €0.10-€50.00
Could suit players drawn to a higher top win who are comfortable with a less steady base game rhythm.
Golden Squares do not feature in Le Zeus. Instead, the game uses Mystery Reveal: vertical groups of Mystery symbols can land on reels 2 through 5 and turn into high-pays, Wilds, or Mystery Reels. The Mystery Reels then spin to show Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, and Pots of Gold. Winning combinations can start sticky respins, allowing chains to build and potentially deliver larger rewards. Across three bonus rounds, Mystery symbol coverage increases by tier. The top option, Gods Just Wanna Have Fun Hidden Epic Bonus, begins with four of six reels already covered in Mystery symbols.
Standout quality: The series’ highest ceiling before Le Cowboy.
Le Cowboy (2025)
- RTP: 96.28% | Volatility: Medium | Max win: 25,000x | Bet range: €0.05-€40.00
Worth a look for players with smaller bankrolls who are also seeking the series’ highest maximum win.
Le Cowboy sets itself apart with a 6×6 grid and Revolver Cylinders in place of the series’ Rainbow mechanic. These Wild icons change after wins, then fire at random grid spaces to reveal Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, Loot Bags, and Reload symbols. Its three bonus rounds build on that feature in sequence: High Noon Saloon, Trail of Trickery, and the Pistols at Dawn Hidden Epic Bonus each add another layer to the Revolver mechanic.
Standout qualities: The series-leading 25,000x maximum win, the smallest minimum bet, and a reveal mechanic with its own distinct rules.
Le Fisherman (2026)
- RTP: 96.33% | Volatility: Medium | Max win: 15,000x | Bet range: €0.10-€50.00
A possible fit for casual play and shorter sessions.
Le Fisherman brings back Golden Squares and introduces Buckets and Global Buckets, which gather Coin values from neighbouring spaces or across the entire grid. Its Epic Rainbow activates every grid position at once. The game also adds the Big Catch Bar, a four-level progressive meter that increases the power of each Rainbow as it fills. Each of the three bonus rounds advances the Big Catch Bar further.
Standout quality: The series’ most approachable base game.
Le Digger (2026)
- RTP: 96.26% | Volatility: Medium | Max win: 15,000x | Bet range: €0.05-€50.00
May appeal to players who enjoy layered mechanics and don’t mind a slower build towards wins.
Le Digger is the collection’s latest release and the first to use a three-layer grid, where wins remove symbols to uncover the layer below. Hacksaw also introduces Dynamite Removal: after wins settle, Smokey can throw from 1 to 5 dynamites to blast open 2×2 areas. Its three bonus rounds increase the dynamite intensity. The highest-reward option, Gold Digger Hidden Epic Bonus, brings five dynamites per spin, with Silver Coins as the minimum reveal.
Standout quality: The series’ most mechanically layered base game.
The series has continuity through Smokey, but its defining thread is Hacksaw’s decision to give each release a different mechanical direction instead of simply reworking the previous game’s look.
Across the releases, the maximum win cap rises from 10,000x to 25,000x, while the games introduce an expanding range of reveal mechanics.
Medium volatility remains consistent throughout the collection, as do accessible minimum bets.
