Free Online Dice Roller
The Virtual Dice Roller gives you a simple way to roll dice online. Use it for board games, role-playing sessions, maths homework or any moment when you want chance to choose. Select your die type and roll up to 100 dice in a single go.

Select 'ROLL DICE' to generate your results.
How to Use the Online Dice Tool
Choose a die, set the number of dice and press the roll button to begin.
#1 Select the Dice Type
First, choose a die from the "Dice Type" menu. The "D" means "die", while the following number identifies its sides. A D6 is the familiar six-sided die, and a D20 is essential for games such as Dungeons & Dragons.
The available choices are D2, D3, D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20 and a D100.
#2 Set the Number of Dice
Open the "Number of Dice" menu and select how many to roll, from 1 to 100. A couple of dice may suit a board game such as Monopoly, whereas probability work may benefit from a higher number.
#3 Roll the Dice
After choosing both settings, press "Roll Dice" and the results will appear straight away.
#4 Reset If Needed
Use "Reset" to remove the previous roll and begin again. There is no limit on how often you use it.
Understanding the Results
Each roll displays the value shown by every individual die, rather than only presenting a final figure. The dice roller also calculates several helpful statistics:
- The combined total for all dice.
- The average result across your dice.
- The number of even results.
- The number of odd results.
With these figures ready on screen, you can review the roll without calculating everything yourself.
What Can You Use Virtual Dice For?

Use virtual dice to choose who starts a game, answer a quick maths question or leave a simple decision to chance.
Board Games
This roller is useful on board game night when the physical dice have gone missing or are hard to find. In many games, the familiar six-sided die (D6) is all you need.
Tabletop RPGs
In tabletop RPGs such as D&D or Call of Cthulhu, random rolls are central to play. This roller includes the specialist dice those games call for:
- D20
- D12
- D10
- D8
- D4
Classroom and Probability Exercises
Teachers and students can observe probability in action with this tool. Roll a large group of dice and look for patterns in the results. Since the information appears on screen, it is straightforward to work out sums, averages and the frequency of even or odd outcomes.
Simulations and Testing
Rolling up to 100 dice at once can support simple simulations. Use it while studying probability, developing a game or exploring how a die behaves over hundreds of rolls.
Random Decision-Making
A dice roll can also settle small everyday choices when you would rather not overthink them. Let chance choose:
- Who starts the charades game?
- What should you have for dinner tonight?
- Who wins the number-guessing game?
- Whose turn is it to wash the dishes?
Dice Types and What They Mean
Labels such as D4, D6 and D20 are easy to understand. The "D" stands for "die", and the number shows how many sides the die has.
For example, a D8 has eight sides, while a D6 is the standard cube-shaped die you know.
A die with more sides offers more possible outcomes. A D2 provides two choices, whereas a D100 provides a hundred.
Why Use an Online Dice Roller?
You do not need to locate or store physical dice. Results appear instantly, and you can roll up to 100 dice of different types at the same time.
That can keep a board game moving, support an RPG session, assist with classroom work or settle a quick choice. The built-in statistics also calculate the total and average for you.
