Blackjack Surrender (BGaming)
Blackjack Surrender is played under H17 NDAS rules and includes an option to give up a hand. The table supports as many as 3 hands in a round, with the familiar choices to hit, stand, split or double down. Its defining feature is the chance to surrender after seeing your first 2 cards if you would rather end the hand.
Inside the table
The shoe holds 6 decks, each made up of 52 cards, and the table has 3 betting spots. Chip values sit along the lower edge: select a denomination and place it on the spot or spots where you want cards. The aim is to finish nearer to 21 than the dealer without exceeding that total and going bust.
How a round works
During each betting round, you may use 1, 2 or 3 spots. After placing your wagers, these blackjack rules govern the available decisions:
- Betting Options: Available chip values are 1, 5, 10, 25 or 100. The denominations vary with the currency or crypto selected for wagering.
- Hit: Choose ‘hit’ when you want another card.
- Stand: When you want to keep your current total, select ‘stand’.
- Double: Doubling is available on totals of 9, 10 or 11. It adds a wager matching your initial bet, after which the dealer gives you 1 additional card.
- Split: Only 1 split is allowed, and it applies when your 2 cards have equal value. The new hand receives an additional wager matching the original bet, after which play continues normally. If you split Aces, however, you may draw just 1 further card.
- Surrender: With early surrender, you can give up the hand and receive half your wager back. Late surrender is unavailable: you cannot surrender after choosing ‘hit’, ‘stand’, ‘double’ or ‘split’.
- Rebet: Once a round has ended, the same wagers can be placed again.

Wagers and RTP
The stated RTP is 99.4%, corresponding to a stated house edge of 0.6%. The smallest chip is 1 EUR/USD/CAD, which sets the minimum wager. Each betting spot has a maximum of 100.00; using all 3 spots raises the maximum to 300.00 for a round.

Strategy and rules
For this variant, apply the basic strategy charts designed for 6-deck H17 NDAS blackjack play. Ideally, select a chart that accounts for the ‘early surrender’ option. Blackjack players often favour this rule when they would rather not continue against the dealer with a total that carries a very low chance of winning. Taking back half your stake can therefore be more favourable over time, or can at least limit losses, than continuing the hand with ‘hit’ or ‘stand’.
Players seeking more flexible conditions may prefer options such as ‘double any total’, ‘double after split’ and ‘S17’, where the dealer must ‘hit’ on soft 17 hands. This table instead uses 6 decks rather than 8 decks, a difference slightly improves the player’s chances of winning.
